Inside Our Factory: How a Pressurized Tennis Ball Is Made
Production starts with natural rubber compounds mixed with proprietary additives. The compound is sheeted, cut and shaped into two hemispheres that are cured and bonded around a pressurized air core.
Next comes felting: two pieces of wool/nylon fabric are wrapped and bonded in a press, leaving the signature seam. Every batch then rests in a climate-controlled room before quality inspection checks weight, bounce and deformation.
Finally, balls are sealed in pressurized cans within hours of inspection to lock in the bounce customers expect on court.
